How Does FDLE Approve Livescan Service Providers Help the Community?

FDLE – Florida Department of Law Enforcement, a Division of The Criminal Justice Information Service stores individual criminal history information via fingerprints for the state of Florida. FDLE is a regulatory body that conducts applicant verifications through cross-checking applicant information in local | national criminal history records, local courts, county records, and FBI databases.
Licensing professions required to submit livescan fingerprinting for criminal history background screening – Teachers, HealthCare Professionals, Physician, Nursing, Realtors, Home Health Aides, and Direct Support Professionals. These Florida professionals are required to use an cc to submit livescan fingerprints for criminal history searches before employment.
Employers, Business owners, Medical Facilities and Schools who require livescan fingerprinting for their employees, students and volunteers must have access to The ClearHouse to check the applicants’ livescan fingerprinting results. Once an applicant’s livescan fingerprints are submitted to FDLE via the Service Provider, the results can only be obtained through The ClearingHouse.
Fingerprinting results are then stored by FDLE and the agency requiring the results ie. DOH, AHCA, APD or DCF. The cost for livescan fingerprinting service is normally borne by the individual applicant.
For this process, clean and clear electronically generated fingerprints for the applicant are used. Differing regulatory Boards like The Florida Board of Nursing, Florida Real Estate Commission and The Florida Board of Respiratory Care recommends using only FDLE Approved Livescan Service Providers for Hard Card Scanning and submitting FDLE approved electronic fingerprinting for Florida licensing.

Busy healthcare workers like Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Professionals and APRN students seeking nursing licenses are required to be electronically fingerprinted by an FDLE approved livescan service for Florida Nursing Board. 

We provide electronic fingerprinting services to USF, Tampa University, South University, Tampa, Rasmussen College, Hillsborough College, and Jersey College Register Nurses (RN) students. 

Tampa General, Advent Health, Moffit, St. Joseph’s, professional (RN) Nursing employees and independent contractors are electronically fingerprinted via an FDLE Approved Livescan Service Provider. 

Therapist graduates and Respiratory Therapy professionals who need to renew a license or become licensed must have electronic fingerprinting submitted via the Florida Department of Health. 

Florida Osteopathic Physicians and Osteopathic students must be fingerprinted electronically by an FDLE Approved Livescan Service Provider. This is a step of the FDLE, Department of Health and Florida Board of Osteopathic licensing process.  

Electronic fingerprinting is required for healthcare licensing in the state of Florida.
